This message is going out to all Zipcon Subscribers. The new USR/3Com modem rack is FINALLY online. After about a two week delay, the lines are in and working. The number to use is 206-336-1700. If you are having any trouble with connectivity to Zipcon modems, please give this number a try. These modems support V.90 and x2. If you are using Windows 95 or 98, you can change the number you dial by going into "My Computer", then "Dial-up Networking". Right mouse click on the Zipcon icon and select "Properties". A window should appear that will allow you to change the phone number to 336-1700. DSL is also available now, the info is online at http://www.zipcon.net/dsl.html. DSL offers an always online, fast connection. No dialing at all, it's always connected. DSL pricing is based on a DSL line price and the Internet connectivity price. You need to purchase the DSL line itself, and pay the monthly fee for the line, then purchase Internet over that DSL line. Zipcon is supporting DSL connectivity through Covad and US West. If you use US West DSL, they charge independently for the DSL line, that charge goes directly to them. The Internet access charge is a separate bill that would be from Zipcon. Covad DSL is billed in one package, directly from Zipcon. You would only receive a single bill (for both the line and the Internet service). Covad usually has a much faster installation time. My experience with US West DSL is that it can take months to install, while Covad can usually do an installation in about 30 days. Zipcon does not yet support GTE DSL. Please let me know if you have any questions or problems. Thanks for using Zipcon!
